King Charles to return to Public Duties
It won’t yet be a full return to official engagements for the King, but the palace is sending positive signals.
Buckingham Palace has released this new photo of the King and Queen.
The picture was taken in the Buckingham Palace garden on the morning of 10th April. The day after Their Majesties’ 19th wedding anniversary.
The palace shared that Charles is ready to resume some public-facing duties. Also very grateful to his medical team for their continued care and expertise.
“His Majesty’s medical team are very encouraged by the progress made so far and remain positive about The King’s continued recovery”.
To mark the milestone, the King and Queen will embark on a joint visit to a cancer treatment centre next Tuesday.
During their visit, they will engage with medical specialists and patients.
His summer plans include a state visit, where he will host the Emperor and Empress of Japan.
In the coming weeks, the palace said, the King would undertake more external engagements.
It remains uncertain if he will be attending some of the big events coming up in the calendar. Such as Trooping the Colour, the D-Day commemorations, summer garden parties, Royal Ascot, and overseas trips in the autumn.
Decisions will be made according to medical advice nearer the time, says the palace.
