Andy Burnham delivers a speech ahead of becoming the Labour Party leader.  Promises to ‘fix things politics has neglected’.

The former Greater Manchester mayor turned PM-in-waiting will undergo a formal coronation at a party ceremony in central London.

But he will not be sworn in as prime minister until Monday, until which time Sir Keir Starmer will remain PM.

Burnham, who was unrivalled in his bid to replace Keir Starmer, is expected to say his government will be “focused on driving growth in every postcode”.
