Nigel Farage resigns as an MP to trigger a by-election. This will be a people versus the establishment by-election he said adding “The people of Clacton should be the judges”.

He also said he had “done nothing wrong”. This as he faced intense scrutiny over financial support given to him by a convicted fraudster, and a £5 million gift from a Reform UK donor.

“I have not broken the law in any wayat all”.

He was under pressure after an investigation by The Sunday Times that revealed his long-term ally George Cottrell, a convicted criminal, had provided funding for security and staffing in the year before he was elected.
