PMQs LIVE – Starmer / Badenoch confrontation – 12pm
Starmer: No justification for more violence and disorder / This is a time for serious work, not rage / attacks on police in Southampton “disgraceful” / In relation to Henry Nowak – it is our duty to bring people together at time like this / Henry’s life has been stolen / Lessons need to be learnt / serious questions addressed / I don’t believe there’s two-tier policing in the UK
Badenoch: How much has welfare bill risen since he came to office? Benefits risen by £20bn since PM in office / Problem isn’t passive PM, it’s Labour Party
The Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer tackled by Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenonoch over welfare benefits. Nigel Farage questions PM over two-tier system.
There are calls for the government to scrap “two-tier” rules treating white people differently to ethnic minorities. This comes in the wake of Henry Nowak dying while being arrested. It happened after his Sikh killer falsely claimed to be a victim of racism.
