Olly Alexander: Dizzy – UK Eurovision entry

Singer Olly Alexander rejected calls to pull out of the Eurovision Song Contest in protest against Israel’s inclusion.

The UK’s entrant for this year’s competition expressed his wish for peace, but Olly said he believes in the unifying power of music.

He was responding to an open letter by more than 450 queer artists, individuals and groups urging him to boycott the event over the Gaza war.

The amazing Olly Alexander is preparing to fulfil one of his biggest life ambitions – to represent the United Kingdom in the much-loved Eurovision Song Contest.

The Years and Years singer has created up a super-catchy hi-energy disco smash with a pleasing nod to the Eighties.  According to some critics it is the best entry we’ve had in years.  And if he wins Eurovision wil be heading for the UK!

The Eurovision Song Contest begins on Tuesday May 7 in Malmo Sweden, with the final held on Saturday May 11.

Dizzy has all the qualities needed to be a guaranteed floor filler at Euroclub, the nightclub where the real action happens each year at Eurovision.
