Watch live as King Charles III becomes the first British monarch to address the U.S. Congress since his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in 1991.
Trump and first lady Melania Trump greeted the monarch and Queen Camilla at a ceremony full of pomp and pageantry – images show them smiling as they shake hands.
Crowds applauded as Trump praised the historical closeness of the UK and US – Americans have had “no closer friends than the British”, he said.
