Astronauts stuck in space – return Feb 2025
Nasa announced that two American astronauts who are stuck on the International Space Station will be brought back home on a SpaceX ship February next year.
Astronauts Sunita Williams and Barry ‘Butch’ Wilmore unable to get home because of a problem with the Boeing Starliner spacecraft.
The pair meant to be on an eight-day mission – stuck in space for more than two months already.
Top Administrator Bill Nelson and leadership hosted the event.
NASA’s Boeing Crew Flight Test launched on June 5 on a ULA (United Launch Alliance) Atlas V rocket from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. It is an end-to-end test of the Starliner system as part of the agency’s Commercial Crew Program.
Through partnership with American private industry, NASA is opening access to low Earth orbit and the space station to more people, science, and commercial opportunities.
