Satellite Powered App spots loneliness – in UK cities
A satellite-powered app to tackle loneliness has been adopted by the Leeds City Council.
The UK and European Space Agencies have given their backing to the Care View designed application which runs on all types of smartphones.
The Council has enlisted professional volunteers who can connect with the app when they see signs of social isolation. A heat map back at base pin points the ‘hotspots’.
Leeds City Council and the App creator talked to ynuk.tv about the digital tool.
