A companion piece to the hit film, The Social Network. Sorkin’s original screenplay tells the true story of how Frances Haugen (Madison), a young Facebook engineer, enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz (White). He’s a Wall Street Journal reporter. Horwitz goes on a dangerous journey that ends up blowing the whistle on the social network’s most guarded secrets.

Jesse Eisenberg, who portrayed Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network (2010), declined to return to the role. This because he developed a negative opinion of the real Zuckerberg’s recent actions, and came to dislike being associated with him through his performance. Also was frustrated by encounters such as fans asking him to sign “I’m CEO, bitch” memorabilia in airports. Aaron Sorkin revealed that he spent three days trying to persuade Eisenberg to reprise his role. Jeremy Strong cast instead.
