Hip-hop great Nas crowned BMI Icon 2026
Nas was declared winner of the highest BMI honour at a celebration in Los Angeles, California, August 27, 2026.
He said: Never in a million years did I think I would be partners with BMI.
The award was in recognition for his prolific songwriting and immeasurable influence on hip-hop and beyond.
It was a private event hosted by BMI.
BMI represents the public performance rights in over 25 million musical works created and owned by more than 1.5 million songwriters, composers and music publishers.
