BMI paid tribute to tge best in songwriting at the 2026 BMI Pop Awards at Beverly Wilshire, California.

Legendary songwriter Paul Anka received the BMI Icon Award honouring the trailblazer’s illustrious career, defined by remarkable longevity and versatility.

In presenting the award, Chief Revenue & Creative Officer, Mike Steinberg deemed Anka “music royalty”. He added “tonight, we offer you BMI’s highest honour to celebrate your incomparable catalog, your unmathed influence, and your legacy as one of the greates hitmaktes – and songwriters – of all time.”
