U.S. Spacewalk 97

U.S. Spacewalk 97 – plus ESA astronaut – 12:00

At approximately 8:35 a.m. EDT (1235 UTC) on Aug. 18, 2026, NASA astronaut Anil Menon and ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot will venture outside the International Space Station for an approximately six-and-a-half-hour spacewalk. The pair will replace a Space-to-Ground antenna that enables high-speed communications between the Mission Control Center in Houston and the orbital complex.

ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot will take part in her first-ever spacewalk during U.S. spacewalk 97.

Together with NASA astronaut Anil Menon, will replace a Space-to-Ground antenna on the International Space Station, a critical communications system that enables high-speed data and voice links between Mission Control in Houston and the space station. Coverage begins at 13:00 CEST, with the spacewalk scheduled to begin at Approximately 14:35 CEST.
