Israel’s representative Noam Bettan performed ‘Michelle’ in Eurovision’s semi-final 1, 2026. And Israel qualifies for the grand final.

His participation follows boycotts from Ireland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Spain and Slovenia. This over Israel’s involvement and its military campaign Gaza.

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the organising body behind Eurovision, faced calls to ban Israel for three years running, but has each time allowed Israel to remain in the competition.
