LIVE: NASA’s stuck astronauts press conference from Space Station
Watch live the pre-departure news conference of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-9 on the International Space Station. NASA astronauts Nick Hague, Suni Williams, Butch Wilmore and Roscosmos cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov expected to return to Earth in mid-March.
The liftoff of NASA’s next crew targeted for March 12.
Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams arrived at the space station in June 2024 and expected to stay just a week. But Boeing’s Starliner capsule had so much trouble getting to the space station that NASA decided to bring it back empty and reassigned the pair to SpaceX.
In January, Donald Trump asked Elon Musk’s SpaceX to bring back two astronauts “stranded” in space. Despite the fact there’s already an agreed plan for SpaceX to bring them back in March and Nasa saying the two not stranded anyway.
The two astronauts are Nasa’s Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, who were blasted into space in Boeing’s Starliner capsule in June. The two arrived at the International Space Station where they were expected to stay for just 10 days.
