Live: Omagh bombing public inquiry starts
Watch live as the Omagh bombing public inquiry holds its first hearing on Tuesday, 28 January.
Twenty-nine people were killed in the attack carried out by the Real IRA in the Co Tyrone town in August 1998 in what was the biggest single atrocity of the Troubles.
Inquiry held in Omagh with Paul Greaney KC – Senior Counsel to the Inquiry leads the questioning.
The inquiry will examine whether UK authorities could have reasonably prevented the bombing.
Bereaved families and survivors are expected to gather at the Strule Arts Centre in the Co Tyrone town.
The inquiry will hear commemorative and personal statements over the next four weeks.

August 1998 – Real IRA admit they carried out the attack.
December 2001m – Police investigation called “seriously flawed’.
January 2002 – Colm Murphy found guilty of plotting bomb.
August 2003 – Michael McKevitt guilty of directing terrorism. Jan 2005 – Colm Murphy’s conviction ‘unsafe’. May 2006 – Sean Hoey charged but later acquitted. June 2009 – Four men found liable in civil trial.
