National Windrush monument Waterloo – stop by and take a look
A statue was unveiled at Waterloo Station in central London to celebrate and mark the Windrush generation.
The monument, designed by Basil Watson, also marked 22 June as an official Windrush Day.
The Windrush generation are those who arrived in the UK between 1948 and 1971 from the Caribbean.
Thousands arrived to start a new life in the country.
The monument had a £1m funding from the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.
Members of the Windrush generation joined Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to witness the official unveiling.
