Meet the pilots who are flying the stunning aircraft as they land in Santa Monica, Los Angeles California. Steve Boultbee Brooks and Matt Jones departed Goodwood UK, August 5, having stopped off at Greenland with pit stops in Scotland and Iceland.
Nearly a month later the two aviators continue their four-month expedition attempt. They are flying a newly restored original Spitfire around the globe. The carefully restored Spitfire boasts a unique silver-chrome finish.
The pilots clearly love the Silver Spitfire and look forward to the rest of their flying mission. They expect to touch down in UK in time for Christmas! Good luck guys. We know you and the aircraft can do it. Your fans will be watching all the way.
The aircraft, built in 1943, will cover more than 43,000 kilometres over several months, visiting some 30 countries on its way.
