Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has died in a car crash in Spain. He was 28.
The car left the road due to a tyre blowout while overtaking another car, local police say.
His brother, Andre Silva, also died in the crash.
Liverpool FC say they are “devastated” by what they call an “unimaginable loss”, while Cristiano Ronaldo says “it doesn’t make sense”.
Jota and his wife married in church on June 22. They have three children, Denis, Duarte and a daughter whose name has not been revealed.
The crash happened at about 12.40am local time. According to witnesses who called 112, the car was engulfed in flames and set fire to nearby vegetation.
