But Sir Keir Starmer came under pressure over welfare cuts. The TUC says targeting disability benefits ‘not the solution’.
Recently, the Prime Minister called the current benefits system unsustainable, indefensible and unfair. He said the government could not “shrug its shoulders and look away”.
Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch went on the attack over welfare. She demanded answers and questioned whether the government going to do about benefits.
Badenoch asked the Prime Minister whether he knows how mnay people will lose their jobs because of the Budget. Sir Keir replied that Labour has secured thousands of new jobs and wages and investment are up.
Also Lib Dems claimed government needs to ‘toughen up’ in response to Trump’s steel and aluminium tariffs.
