Kemi’s plan to fix our BROKEN immigration system
Britain’s immigration system broken for decades.
The Conservative Party Kemi now leads is going to fix it.
Kemi Badenoch finally announced a policy. This ahead of the Labour government’s Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Bill being debated in Parliament next week.
The Conservatives say immigrants only allowed to apply for British citizenship after 15 years of being in the UK as opposed to the current six. Furthermore, immigrants with criminal records or have claimed benefits or social housing should not granted leave to remain, which sets them on a path to citizenship.
Announcing the policy, Badenoch said:
Migrants on work visas who claim benefits barred from settling indefinitely in the UK. This under Kemi Badenoch’s first major policy announcement as Tory leader.
Badenoch said the period before migrants can apply for indefinite leave to remain – which paves the way for British citizenship – shoudl be extended from five to 10 years.
Labour minister Angela Eagle said “after 14 years of shameful Tory failure no one will take seriously anything they claim”.
