This is a budget of firsts.  The first budget of the Labour government in 15 years, the first ever budget by a woman and the first budget to use new fiscal rules.

Reeves announces cutting duty on draft alcohol “which means a penny off the pints at the pubs.”  Alcohol duty rates on non-draught products wllincrease in line with RPI from February next year.

Will extend the inheritance tax threshold freeze for a further two years to 2030.

Working people will not see higher taxes.

Confirms employers’ NI contributions to rise by 1.2 percentage points.

Conservative Party leader Rishi Sunak will give his response to the Budget as soon as Reeves sits down.
