A powerful moment on the National Television Awards when Jo Hamilton collected the Impact Award for the ITV Drama.

Also just as powerful was the knowledge that the Labour Government has not made any pay out.  In other words dragging its feet like the Tories.

The four-part miniseries series brought renewed attention to the subpostmasters who were wrongly prosecuted during the Horizon IT scandal.

Over more than 700 subpostmasters were prosecuted by the Post Office and given criminal convictions between 1999 and 2015 due to Fujitsu’s faulty Horizon IT system, which made it appear as though money was missing at their branches.

The cast of ITV’s drama, Mr Bates vs The Post Office recognised for their accomplishments at London’s O2 on Wednesday.

It was presented to them by Clive Myrie one of the country’s most trusted news broadcasters on the BBC.

Comedian Joel Dommett returned to host the annual star-studded ceremony broadcast live on Wednesday from 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
