New cat enters 10 Downing Street – it is called ‘Prince’
New cat enters 10 Downing Street
After a long summer of negotiations it was agreed that a Siberian kitten would join the Starmer family at 10 Downing Street.
The Prime Minister revealed the decision in an interview with BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg on the Sunday Show. Sir Keir also let it be known that the cat is called Prince
Originally, his children promised a German Shepherd dog when they moved into Number 10. But Sir Keir backtracked over space fears in the small flat the PM lives in.
Downing Street has been home to many cats and dogs over the years – with every prime minister allowed to move their family pets into their official London home when they get the job.
However, Larry the cat started living at Downing Street in February 2011 and never left!
What are your thoughts about the new cat? Do you like the name? Let us know, drop us a line, we would love to hear from you.
