Southgate speaks to media ahead of Slovenia clash

Watch live as Gareth Southgate and Declan Rice of his England team hold press conference ahead of their Euro 2024 fixture against Slovenia.

All 26 players took part in a session on the eve of their final group game, with Luke Shaw returning to the group.

Shaw has not been in action since suffering a hamstring injury playing for Manchester United in February but was a surprise inclusion in Southgate’s squad for the finals.

Southgate knows that anything other than defeat will guarantee them a place in the last 16.

Advice he’s given to his squad while recovery from a match is to have sleep and good nutrition.

But following their performance in the 1-1 draw with Denmark – in the second group game – changes are expected to the XI.  Chelsea midfielders Conor Gallagher expected to make his frist start of Euro 2024.

England need to avoid defeat against Slovenia in their final group game on Tuesday to guarantee progressing from Group C.
