Watch Boeing Starliner Crew flight Test Launch
See Starliner launch to the International Space Station with NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams aboard. This is Starliner’s Crew Flight Test as part of the NASA Commercial Crew program. Liftoff is at 10:52 a.m. ET from United Launch Alliance Space Launch Complex-41.
Boeing’s Starliner set to launch a pair of NASA astronauts to the International Space Station this week after the rocket’s maiden crewed voyage was scrubbed minutes before takeoff Saturday.
A hotly anticipated milestone for the aeronautics giant producing a dependable space taxi and competing with Elon Musk’s SpaceX.
Astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams were already in position inside the Starliner when the decision to halt was made because of a potential issue with an oxygen relief valve in the Atlas rocket run by the United Launch Alliance.
There was no issue with Boeing’s Starliner Spacecraft which sits on top of the rocket.
Flight engineers discovered the valve been rapidly opening and closing in the period before launch and so the countdown aborted.
