Sir Patrick Vallance tells the inquiry “it was difficult at times” to provide advice to Boris Johnson during the pandemic.
Vallance wrote in a private diary note that then-PM Boris Johnson “looked broken – head in hands a lot” during the Covid response in September 2020.
The inquiry also heard that Vallance had described Johnson as “clearly bamboozled” by Covid science in his diary
