Skateboarding set for Olympic gold – watch some of the skills
Skateboarding is to become a sporting event at the Olympic Games and has been added to Paris2024.
The idea is to make the Olympics more attractive to the young. So, skateboarding is on the road to Paris.
ynuk.tv checked this out with some skateboarders at the Southbank hub in London.
Other sports included in the Olympic Games are breakdancing, BMX biking and sailing and surfing.
These are sports that would not be considered just a few years ago.
Skateboarding first originated in 1950s California in the United States. This when surfers, looking for something to do when the waves were flat, attached roller skates to their boards.
