Guns Made to Order – new London factory
Gunmaker James Purdey & Sons have been perfecting guns for more than two centuries. They pride themselves in finding the right kind of people for their brand.
Apprentices have played a part in making the weapons since the company opened. Purdey has recently moved its hand making craft to a new factory in south-west London and continues to employ the new workers to carry on the job of the respected company. Apprentices qualify for full-time employment after completing the Purdy 5 year apprenticeship.
The assembly of a gun is intricate work with each part
Ynuk.tv was invited to catch up with some of the workers on the factory floor, who help make to order the ‘best’ guns in the country.
For some a natural profession for others a path they never thought they would take. visit www.purdey.com
