Athletes overjoyed to secure Paris 2024 places on final weekend of Olympic Qualifier Series in Budapest
More than 150 athletes, in four sports, have secured precious quota places for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 on the last weekend of the Olympic Qualifier Series in Budapest.
An interactive festival-like event at an urban park. It welcomed 20,000 spectators today, staging events in BMX Freestyle, Skateboarding, Sport Climbing and Breaking. The Budapest scores are added to what athletes’ achieved at the first Olympic Qualifier Series event in Shanghai.
Saturday (22 June) was BMX Freestyle finals day and Anthony Jeanjean showed why he will be a gold medal contender at his home Olympics. The frenchman is thrilled with his form a month before the Paris 2024 Games take place.
Later in the day American cyclists dominated the Women’s final. Tokyo silver medalist Hannah Roberts landed first place ahead of teammate Perris Benegas.
Speed climbing finals was success for Poland in the Women’s final. And success for china in the men’s final.
