Snook big winner in Tony Awards
A big occasion at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan as the Tony Awards for 2025 were handed out to some of the best in theatre.
Among the top winners Australian actor Sarah Snook. She was recognised for Best Performance in a Leading Role.
Sarah Snook said it had been an “honour” to work with composer Lord Lloyd Webber. Also paid tribute to Lloyd, saying: “You saw in me what no one else did. You have given us all new ways to dream and you have changed my life forever.”
A proud Jak Malone from Merseyside described his award as ‘insane’. But also proud that he achieved his dream of performing on Broadway. Jak plays a variety of characters for Operation Mincemeat. The musical tells the story of the British plot to fool the Nazis during World War Two. Most notably Hester Leggett, a fastidious MI5 staff member and the unsung hero of the title World War II deception operation.
