Live: Newcastle United Bus Parade – and Carabao Cup Win Celebration Event – Ant and Dec hosting the show show

Tens of thousands of Newcastle United fans packed the route of the city’s streets to celebrate the club’s historic Carabao Cup win.

The Magpies’ secured their first silverware since the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1969. Also the club’s first domestic trophy for 70 years, by beating Liverpool at Wembley two weeks ago.

An open-top bus parade started at St James’ Park at approximately 16:30, to head through Newcastle city centre and end at Town Moor.

Meanwhile, a ticketed celebration at Town Moor will feature live music, interviews and a screening of the full cup final.

The route was jammed packed with fans proud of their team.

It will then turn left on to Percy Street, travel past Haymarket and on to the Great North Road (B1318) before arriving at the event site at approximately 17:00 GMT.

The event is expected to have a “significant impact” on the region’s transport network, with all public transport is expected to be very busy all day, the club said.
