The Piano – Lang Lang and Mika perform at Battersea

Claudia Winkleman, Mika and Lang Lang are back with their iconic travelling piano, to celebrate Christmas at Battersea Power Station in London.

It’s a special festive get-together featuring some of the stand-out players from Series 2, performing seasonal favourites including Walking in the Air, O Holy Night and Joni Mitchell’s River. But the Christmas treats don’t stop there. Brad Kella, who won Series 2, puts on a moving performance of his first single. And Mika and Lang Lang perform a duet of a Beatles classic.

The Piano at Christmas aired on Channel 4 at 7:05pm this Christmas Day.

Review – Independent

Although Lang Lang won’t be with us next year, I’m sorry to say The Piano will apparently be back with a new judge, Jon Batiste. Here’s hoping he breathes fresh life into the format – yet, I fear that The Piano’s prurient and patronising DNA dooms it. Still, at least it’s over for another year, eh?
