Today is the final day of closing statements at the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry after more than two years of testimony. We’ll hear from former Post Office and Fujitsu staff – watch live proceedings in the stream below.

Since February 2022, the inquiry has looked into the wrongful convictions of 900 sub-postmasters for theft, fraud and false accounting.

Mny more face financial ruin and reputational damage as the Post Office pursued thousands of innocent sub-postmasters for apparent financial shortfalls caused by Horizon faults.

Closing statements heard today from former Post Office staff, including ex-chief executive Paula Vennells, and Fujitsu workers.

The inquiry has heard from more than 5,000 witnesses, with millions of pages of testimony.

Yesterday, we heard from representatives of sub-postmasters who were wrongly convicted in the scandal. A lawyer said the “evil the Post Office did was profound”, describing a “deliberate conspiracy” and “cover up”.

The inquiry’s findings will be shared next year.

Many victims and their families are here to watch these proceedings draw to a close and hoping that the inquiry will get to the truth when Williams delivers his findings sometime in 2025.
