The recent petition claims more than 2 million have signed it calling for Sir Keir Starmer to set a date for another general election.

Opposition leader, Kemi Badenoch referred to it during question time but Sir Keir was not interested and ignored it.

Badenoch:  If Starmer wants to see what a Conservative government would do, he should resign.  She quotes criticism of the government and challenges the PM to say it’s right.

Starmer repeats the point about Badenoch not committing to reverse the NICS increase.  And he says the Tories were divided on the tobacco bill, their legacy legislation.

Then Kemi Badenoch turned to taxes.

Badenoch said the chancellor told the recent CBI conference that she was not coming back with more taxes. Will Starmer repeat that?

Starmer’s response:  he is not going to write the next five years of budgets.

It was a full Chamber and it got noisy on many occasions.  The Speaker of the House, soon stopped the noise allowing Starmer and Badenoch to be heard.
