British Pole Vaulter set to beat ‘Post-Olympic Blues’
The International Olympic Committee has appointed British Pole Vaulter Holly Bradshaw as a Mental Health Ambassador. She is among a global group of Olympians who will champion mental health among athletes. Holly won bronze at Tokyo 2020 and recently retired.
She wants to end stigma around mental health in sport and ‘Post-Olympic Blues’.
Holly recently retired after representing Great Britain at four Olympic Games. She will share her vast experience o coping with competitive sport through her new role.
October is World Mental Health month aims to address mental health issues in an empathetic way. With a unifying voice, helping everyone to feel hopeful by empowering everyone to take action and to create lasting change.
The IOC has introduced a new initiative – a team of Mental Health Ambassadors. It is the latest athlete well being initiative introduced by the IOC. It has a range of groundbreaking services on offer during the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
This included the Mind Zone, a space in the Olympic Village where athletes could recharge and mentally prepare for competition.
