Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry
The Post Office investigator Stephen Bradshaw gives evidence after being involved in the criminal investigation of nine sub-postmasters. This included Lisa Brennan, a former counter clerk at a post office. Lisa falsely accused of stealing £3,000 in 2003.
The investigator said he heard reports of problems with the Horizon software, but wasn’t “technically minded. I would expect that to come from the people above.
Bradshaw, involved in the criminal investigation of nine sub-postmasters, also said I’m “a small cog in this”.
Earlier Bradshaw spoke of a statement he signed in 2012 written by lawyers, not him. It declared the Post Office’s “absolute confidence” in the software.
Between 1999 and 2015, the Post Office prosecuted 700 sub-postmasters and sub-postmistresses. This based on the faulty Horizon IT system.
