A steady stream of fans left tributes for David Bowie in Brixton where he was born. Fans have always considered this London suburb ‘their’ home as well. David Bowie died 10 January 2016

The David Bowie Brixton wall on a department store is not far from where he lived. It has a massive painting of the iconic singer in his Ziggy Stardust phase.

Tearful followers left flowers and messages as well as feeling shocked over the news of his death.  They paid tribute to the 70s icon throughout the day.  They couldn’t believe they had lost a favourite singer.

His music was played in the background. David Bowie died in New York with his family by his side. He was 69 and had cancer.

Current and older generations are fans.  They told ynuk.tv they had been dedicated followers from the early days of Bowie’s singing career.
