LIVE: Irish rap group Kneecap member in court on terrorism charge
A decision over whether a member of rap group Kneecap will stand trial for allegedly displaying a flag in support of Hezbollah, at a London gig last year, has been postponed.
Liam Og O hAnnaidh, whose stage name is Mo Chara, is alleged to have shown the flag during a gig in London in November 2024.
Hundreds of Kneecap fans gathered outside to support one of its members ahead of his anticipated appearance.
This his second appearance at the Westminster Magistrates Court for the Irish rapper. It follows an appearance on 18 June, after which he was released on unconditional bail.
Today’s court proceedings will see fellow artists appear in support of Kneecap, reportedly including Nadine Shah and Maverick Sabre.
Ahead of the hearing, the rap band urged their admirers to ‘show up for Kneecap’ outside Westminster Magistrates Court.
Decision expected in September.
