Villian of the Year – British soap Awards 2025
Navin Chowdhry took home the Villain of the Year award for his portrayal of Nish Panesar, the calculating manipulative husband to Suki Panesar, played by Balvinder Sopal, who was killed by his son after being pushed off a balcony.
The audience booed as EastEnders’ soap actor, Navin Chowdhry, took to the stage to accept the Best Villain award.
Host for the award Emmett John “Emo” Scanlan is an Irish actor. He is best known for playing Brendan Brady in Hollyoaks.
The British Soap Award for Villain of the Year is an award presented annually by the British Soap Awards. Upon its inception, the award generally voted for by a panel, until in 2006, it opened as a publicly voted category.
This remained until 2014. However, in 2023, it was once again opened as a public vote.
A massive and exciting night for EastEnders as the BBC soap dominated the British Soap Awards with eight prizes, including Best British Soap.
The ceremony, hosted at Hackney Empire in London by singer Jane McDonald, took place on Saturday (May 31) before airing on ITV on Thursday evening (June 5).
