Sir Elton John has revealed he ‘lost it for 45 minutes’ and ‘needed consoling’ while recording his new album with Brandi Carlile.

The iconic Sir Elton and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Brandi were guests on the Graham Norton show, Friday 7 February.

The two have an obvious rapport and enjoyed their time on the couch with Graham. They talked the latest single they recorded together for their latest album.

Concept for Who Believes In Angels? was devised by close friends and regular collaborators. They set out to create a genuinely collaborative studio album between Elton and Brandi.

Sir Elton and Brandi recorded every song in just 20 days at the iconic Sunset Sound Studios in Los Angeles in October 2023.

Brandi could not keep her eyes off Elton.

Brandi and Elton hit the recording studio when the Tiny Dancer hitmaker was recovering from hip replacement surgery. He was feeling ‘very grumpy’ at the time, which resulted in a chaotic recording experience. Sir Elton’s now revealed he faced a particularly ‘heavy’ moment, which was revealed in the promo video, as he appears to break down in tears.

But not in this performance.
