Strictly: Chris a winner – and he cried – watch the moment of joy

Chris McCausland becomes the 22nd Strictly Come Dancing champion in the contest’s milestone 20th year. His dance partner Dianne Buswell, wins the coveted title in her third final. What a partnership. A widely predicted result but the right one. We think.

“I don’t know what to say,” says Chris.

He was already the people’s champion. Now he’s the actual champion too, inheriting the glitter ball trophy.

And many say he deserved it. He blazed the trail as Strictly’s first ever blind contestant. It is hard to believe the Liverpudlian come cam into this contest with no idea of how he would learn to dance.

Ten weeks later he wasn’t just still in the ballroom, he was lifting the trophy.

His partner Dianne Buswell took on what many thought was an impossible job and worked miracles. Never has a Strictly pro deserved that glitter ball more.

Glitter cannons fire and confetti falls as they lift that “tasteful” trophy. And Chris lifts Di. Both tearful.
