Strictly: Tasha and Aljaž win first 40 of the series

Craig Revel Horwood finally reached for the 10 paddle after Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec’s emotional American Smooth.  It was  dedicated to the professional’s young daughter, Lyra.

The couple awarded the first 40 in the current Strictly Come Dancing series.  And plenty to celebrate on this week’s Strictly as the first 40 of the series was finally awarded.

As the judges gave their critical views of the performance, the judges labelled the routine “perfection” and “the Rolls Royce of the American Foxtrot”.

It seemed inevitable that Tasha Ghouri would get the first perfect 40 of the series. She and Aljaž Škorjanec are the only remaining couple who’ve never scored below 30 points and had scored 39 on three occasions before tonight. That American smooth was flawless. Worth the wait.

Did you see it?  If not here’s an opportunity to do so.  Watch the video and you will get an idea why the couple scored a full 40!

In the meantime: keeeeeep dancing!
