Eiffel Tower lights up Paris with spectacular sparks
The Eiffel Tower was the backdrop for a one-of-a-kind light show at the 2024 Opening Ceremony for the Olympic Games in Paris.
A fantastic spray of lights lit up as the athletes parade went by along the River Seine.
There were daggers and spikes as the laser spectacular highlighted the Tower as well as the Olympic Games.
The fast-moving and multi-location ceremony masterminded by acclaimed French theatre director Thomas Jolly. Aimed at impressing global TV audiences as much as those who braved the weather and intense security to watch live on-site.
It poured with rain throughout the opening ceremony but it didn’t stop the Eiffle Tower looking totally splendid.
No-one seemed to take too much notice of the wet weather. Paris 2024 was about to start and a perfect event for sporting fans across France and the globe.
Spectators poured into the city. Many had arrive early while others had to tackle the train line problem prevent the fast Euro train from running for some time.
But millions around the world were just as happy to watch the ceremony on TV and from home.
