Chancellor Jeremy Hunt delivers the Budget.
Hunt – announces NI cut by two percentage points.
increases child benefit threshold to £60,000.
Hunt – announces extension of the alcohol duty freeze until February 2025.
“We have turned the corner on inflation”.
Confirmed that a 5p cut in fuel duty will continue for another year. Also confirmed will increase the repayment period for budgeting advance loans for 12 months.

The UK economy fell into recession last year, and overall tax take is approaching record levels since World War Two.
“Conservatives promised to fix the nation’s roof,” Labour’s Rachel Reeves says, but instead they are “now burning the house down”.
