MTV EMA 2024 – Pet Shop Boys – Pop Pioneers

Pet Shop Boys received the first MTV EMA Pop Pioneers Award at the 2024 MTV EMA.  The announcement made  Sunday November 10 in Manchester.

Tthe boys were delighted to receive the honour and sang popular tracks for their fans in the Arena, across the nation and the globe.

The 2024 MTV EMAs ceremony presented at the state-of-the-art Co-op Live arena.  The biggest indoor entertainment venue of its kind in Europe, for its Manchester debut.

The Pet Shop Boys closed the show with musicians from the Manchester Camerata and sang poplar songs like Pet Shop Boys.

Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, said the city perfect for music and made for music.

Pet Shop Boys an English synth-pop duo formed in London in 1981. Consisting of primary vocalist Neil Tennant and keyboardist Chris Lowe, they sold more than 100 million records worldwide. Were listed as the most successful duo in UK music history in the 1999 edition of The Guinness Book of Records.

Rita Ora paid an emotional tribute to Liam Payne while hosting this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) in Manchester.  It is almost a month after the One Direction star’s death.
