Gary Kemp honoured with BMI Icon award 2023 – he couldn’t believe it was for him
The singer/songwriter won the accolade for musical career as a successful songwriter in British pop music history.
Gary Kemp, founder member, songwriter, guitarist behind the legendary new wave band, Spandau Ballet.
Also high on award winning list was P2J, presented with the BMI IMPACT award. He was told as a young kid in Africa his music would go nowhere.
The amazing 2023 BMI London Awards were held at the Savoy HotelMonday October 2.
Throughout the ceremony BMI paid tribute to UK and European songwriters, producers, composers and publishers. All involved in the most performed songs of the previous year.
