Sunak tells Zelensky – UK steadfast in its support – tells Russia “we’re not going away”
Ukraine’s President thanks the UK government, the King, and the British people as he meets the PM.
President President Volodymyr Zelensky landed early in the morning at Chequers in a surprise visit with PM Rishi Sunak.
The Ukraine President said “we are thankful” and described Sunak as “my best friend”.
They discussed further military aid ahead of an expected Ukrainian counter offensive.
UK has pledged “hundreds” of air-defence missiles and long-range attack drones, says Downing Street.
As President Zelensky meets UK PM Rishi Sunak near London, Russia says it takes an “extremely negative” view of Britain supplying long-range Storm Shadow cruise missiles, as well as new military drones, to Ukraine.
