The PM has so far resisted opposition calls to sack the Tory chairman over the tax penalty he paid while chancellor.
Rishi Sunak is now grilled over Nadhim Zahawi’s tax affairs.
Starmer: Any politician who seeks to avoid taxes they owe in the country not fit to be in charge of the UK finances.
Sunak: the issues happened before he was PM and that when Mr Zahawi was appointed the “usual” process was followed.
Sunak has ordered his ethics adviser to investigate despite last week saying his minister had addressed the issue in full.
Labour’s Sir Keith Starmer pressed Sunak on what he knew about the multi-million pound tax settlement and why he didn’t act earlier.
The PM says he stands by his values and principles shown by him resigning from Boris Johnson’s government.
