Keir Starmer criticises ‘sticking plaster’ government
Sir Keir Starmer gave his first speech of the year after Rishi Sunak in which he said there had been 13 years of sticking-plaster politics.
The Labour leader said his party will deliver a “decade of national renewal” if it comes to power in the next election, currently scheduled for 2025.
In his first speech of 2023, the Labour leader promised an end to the “sticking plaster politics” in Westminster, with “a new way of governing” for the future.
Sir Keir pledged to create the “sort of hope you can build your future around”.
