Government to target gangs in Channel crossings
Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, says she will do ‘whatever it takes’ to tackle the small boats crisis.
She made the comment in the Commons after four people died and more than 40 were saved after their vessel started sinking this morning.
The Home Secretary called the incident a terrible tragedy and said she had spoken to her counterpart in France.
Suella Braverman said it was only a matter of time before more lives were lost after 27 died in the channel in November last year.
These are the days that we dread, she added.
